Dear Partners and Friends,

Last weekend was a great weekend of horse racing at Belmont. What a card! The performances were incredible in some of the races, though not so much in the Belmont Stakes where the winning horse, Creator, again failed to post a 100+ Beyer.

Dear Partners and Friends,

Patrick's Day gave us an A effort today and that, along with a perfect ride by Miguel Mena, equaled the WIN at Churchill Downs. Patrick beat some nice horses and is showing signs of being a financially productive part of our stable.

Dear Partners and Friends,

Another Derby in the books. We like to think of them as "official" Derby's (the ones where we have a horse in the race) and unofficial Derby's. The two are so different.

Dear Partners and Friends,

With many of the Donegal faithful watching on television at Churchill Downs and many more watching around the country, Brother O'Connell just did a very nice job in winning at Belmont and beating a very nice horse of Chad Brown's and another trained by Christophe Clement.

Dear Partners and Friends,

I am sorry for going radio silent on you for the past week. The respiratory ailment I brought back from Dubai kicked me arse. I ended up in the E.R. at the Mayo Clinic a week ago and am finally turning the corner.

Good Morning,

Donegal Moon (DD VII) has been entered in the 10th race at Keeneland today. It is the Blue Grass S. (I) for three-year-olds going 1 1/8 miles. He has drawn post position 2 of 14 and will be ridden by Martin Garcia. The purse is $1,000,000 and post time is 6:00 p.m. EDT.

Dear Partners and Friends,   Saturday sent out Keen Ice in Dubai and Patrick's Day in Tampa. We won half of our races which is a damned good average but boy did we win the wrong one. Other way around would have been a swing of about six million dollars...

Dear Partners and Friends, It is early morning here in Dubai and I just watched Keen Ice come off the track. He and Tammy are an absolute picture out there. It is clear Ice is peaking and a return to his best form can put him right in the mix...

Dear Partners and Friends, We interrupt the horse talk long enough to say that Des Moines is pleased to have accomplished what Indiana has failed to be able to: Get Kentucky to play them. Now we see why. Coach Calimari was the perfect appetizer course for this year's tournament. Now back...

Dear Partners and Friends, Okay, I know it is the Kentucky Derby Trail, not road, but you get the idea. Donegal Moon has stamped himself a Derby contender with his extraordinary performance at PARX and now will be pointed to the Grade I Bluegrass Stakes, won by our very own Dullahan...
