On the Road Again...

Dear Partners and Friends,

Okay, I know it is the Kentucky Derby Trail, not road, but you get the idea. 

Donegal Moon has stamped himself a Derby contender with his extraordinary performance at PARX and now will be pointed to the Grade I Bluegrass Stakes, won by our very own Dullahan just three years ago. (I never get tired of pointing out that Dullahan was the first horse to win both the Futurity at two and the Bluegrass at three since Round Table in 1957).

This year's edition will be on Saturday, April 9 at Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, Kentucky. Home of the very mediocre Kentucky basketball team, right Micheala and Amanda?

We have checked and know that rooms are available if you act quickly at the Hilton Garden Inn for about $139/night.

Because we will need to give a count to Keeneland sooner rather than later, please respond to this email and let us know by this coming Tuesday if you are planning or hoping to attend and the number you will have with you.

If you want to attend the races on Friday as well as Saturday let us know and we will make seats available.  

Donegal Moon would punch his ticket for the May 7 Kentucky Derby by finishing third or better and would even have a chance with fourth. The Blue Grass is a MILLION DOLLAR 100 DERBY POINT Grade I!

If Moon can get there he would be our fourth Derby entrant in seven years. Four in seven. Damn.

Think of it this way: The 2015 Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes, the Haskell, THE TRAVERS, the Breeders' Cup, the Dubai World Cup and now maybe another Kentucky Derby all in the same year.

The Bluegrass Stakes is always one of the best races of the year so we hope you can make it. Let us know.

Two other quick reminders. The Dubai World Cup is March 26. The two year old breeze show in Elloree, South Carolina is April 2. If you are coming and haven't told us speak up NOW.

My favorite thing is a win photo where you can't see anyone coming on the jumbotron in the background ;)
