Fans React to News of Dullahan's Retirement
As news of Dullahan's retirement spread today, fans had the following to say:
"Heard the news today and had to send along a message. I can't thank you enough for bringing me into the fold the way that you did with the Dullahan crew. The welcome I received from you and the gang is something I will always appreciate and I'm fully aware that it very much altered the course of my career and my life in general. It's weird how horses bring people together the way that they do, but it's one of those things you don't want to ask too many questions about - you just go with it because it's something so great.
I will never forget you getting up on the chair at BC 2011 and giving that speech to everybody. I will never forget the feeling when I threw my office chair across the room in celebration when Dullahan collared Hansen in the Bluegrass. And I can't possibly forget the feeling when he won the Pacific Classic. While I may only be 31, I'm fully aware that those moments will live vividly in the memory even when others have faded to sepia.
While it's sad to know that his racing career is over, it's another example of how you always do right by the horse. It's heartening and exciting to know that you have so many prospects for next year's Derby trail. As I move forward in this business and take steps towards becoming a horseman myself, I will always be able to draw on the example you set and I know that it will serve me in good stead.
Horse racing is the best thing to ever happen to me. You, the team, Dale & Tammy along Big D himself will always be a big part of that.
Thanks again for the incredible ride."
