Dullahan failed to follow the Kentucky Derby-winning footsteps of his half-brother Mine That Bird (2009), but he did make a solid showing at Churchill Downs with a fast-closing third-place finish.
The Dale Romans-trained colt broke to the inside and bumped with Union Rags before settling well off the early pace. He made a strong run through the stretch to come within a neck of catching pacesetter Bodemeister, who was just 1 ½ lengths behind I’ll Have Another.
