So Many Plane Tickets!

February 6, 2015

Dear Partners and Friends,

Hanging on the road with Donegal has us all hoping!

A look ahead at tomorrow's races:

The Big Wind. This colt, in Bill Mott's barn in Florida, makes his first start lifetime tomorrow. Bill's charges usually need a start before they are fully cranked, but I have been impressed with the speed Wind has shown in the mornings. I expect to see him a little more forwardly placed than many Donegal competitors and we'll see how he finishes. He has a chance.

Finnegan's Wake. What to say? Coming off two straight Grade II wins and running against the same stock tomorrow. I expect Finn to run well, but Dynamic Sky will be a tough opponent. You won't get much of a price on Finn.

Rock Shandy: He is so chill and has turned into a man. Dick McCaulley is just back from checking him out and says he was stretched out in his stall. I like this horse a lot and he figures to be third choice tomorrow. He will have to run the best race of his life to win, but that is what the Derby trail is all about.

Speaking of the Derby trail; folks at Gulfstream were over the moon about Danny Boy's work this a.m. "Best work of the year at Gulfstream," volunteered one clocker. "Amazing move" said another. We are now penciling Danny in for the Fountain of Youth at Gulfstream on Feb. 21 (same day Puca makes her comeback). This means we will be in four graded stakes on Feb. 21. Two at Gulfstream and two at FairGrounds. Are you having fun yet?

Enjoy the action tomorrow...you have all earned it!

Jerry
