The Old South

Dear Partners and Friends,

With so much going on February 21 and the rush to the Oaks and Derby, it is easy to overlook the fact that some very exciting things are happening down in Elloree, South Carolina with our two year olds. Frank Smith has pronounced them to be another outstanding group.

I spoke to Frank today about our "gang of eight" and he had nothing but praise. He already had his eye on five or six as having superior potential and he says that since they began breezing (just had their second breeze today), the others are catching up. All of the ones that needed to get bigger have done so. Early favorites (and this is more fun than accurate) are Paddy O'Prodigy, Tradefest, Donegal Moon and Paschal.

On March 14 Donegal will be hosting a breeze show (all eight colts will breeze) and luncheon for both the farm workers (as a well deserved thank you to them) and our Donegal partners and friends.

We need to give our food folks a count this coming week, so please let us know by Wednesday, February 18 if you plan to come.

Those who have been know what an amazing trip this is, and those who haven't should get on down there.

Jerry
