A Change in Plans

Dear Partners and Friends,

Our fine three year old colt Irish You Well has come down with some minor ankle issues that will prevent him from running in the Travers. We are very sorry for all who were excited to be part of this big race.

Our decision means we will have Irish to look forward to for a big four year old campaign. My assumption is that we won't need to arrange housing for the Travers given this development.

We still have plenty to look forward to! This morning Dr. K'eogh threw a little bullet at Churchill Downs going five furlongs in 1:00 2/5ths. This cat will take a nip at Ellis Park yet this month. La Macchina will also run back and we expect him to enjoy running without being mugged at every turn.

Brother O'Connell starts this Thursday here at Saratoga.

And then there are the sales that begin this evening. We have narrowed the 170 catalogued horses to three. We believe all three may bring prices that exceed our value matrix in which event it will be on to the New York Bred Sale next week.
