This and That

Partners and Friends,

1. Let us know by Friday if you will be at Santa Anita on February 7 for Rock Shandy and Finnegan's Wake (more on Finn below). A great day of racing that will include the return of Shared Belief and California Chrome facing off against each other.

2. We are struggling on whether Keen Ice will run at Fairgrounds on February 21 (same day of likely return of Irish You Well) or Tampa Bay March 7. As of today we lean 70-30 to Fairgrounds. We are trying to get a flight there. Reason: Tampa Bay stretch is 975 feet. Fairgrounds is 1,346 feet. That is an additional 130 yards after changing leads and that is huge for Ice who does his best running then. Some don't think he can win at this distance (1 1/16th) regardless but I at least want to give him his best shot. FYI: The stretch run at Gulfstream last time was 571 feet. Doc Sandy has limos longer than that! 

3. Puca WILL race Feb. 21 at Gulfstream.

4. If you ordered Derby/Oaks tickets I have now paid for them personally so would appreciate payment as soon as possible.

5. Finnegan's Wake has the second best Equibase speed figure of any horse in North America and the fastest of anyone on the grass. What a story!
