BUSY MORNING FOR GOTHAM HOPEFULS - DRF
Led by the 2-year-old champion Hansen, seven horses pointing to next Saturday’s Grade 3, $400,000 Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct put in workouts Sunday morning at four different facilities.
At Gulfstream Park, in south Florida, Hansen worked five furlongs in 1:00.98 shortly after 6 a.m. Working by himself, Hansen was time by Daily Racing Form’s Mike Welsch in fractions of 24.98 seconds for the opening quarter and 36.76 for three furlongs, meaning he got his last quarter in 24.22. Welsch caught Hansen galloping out six furlongs in 1:14.38 and pulling up seven furlongs in 1:28.88.
