Trifecta!

April 24, 2015

Dear Partners and Friends,

With the formality of Keen Ice drawing into the Derby out of the way we can start getting serious about all the details.

1. While it is unlikely we can do anything to help, if you are still looking for tickets please let us know in case we can play matchmaker with folks trying to sell them.

2. Both Keen Ice and Puca will breeze tomorrow (Saturday) at about 8:30 a.m. EDT. Many of these works can be watched live on the Churchill Downs website. TVG/HRTV will also have coverage.

3. In regards to seeing the horses, our trainers have encouraged some new rules as follows: No one will be allowed inside any barn from today through Derby Day, May 2. We encourage you to come to the works and the daily gallops. You may watch the works from the public viewing areas. You may also stand in the roadway and watch our horses having their baths after their morning works. You are able stand outside the barn and look at any horse you want on the inside as well, but no going inside the barn or to the stalls where our horses are kept. This is basic good animal husbandry anytime, but with Puca and Keen Ice we are dealing with two high strung horses that don't do well with anything out of the ordinary. We hope you understand that we are trying to do what is best by the horses.

4. You saw our note earlier today that Junior Alvarado will ride Puca, Victor Espinoza will ride Finnegan's Wake and Kent Desormeaux will ride Keen Ice.  These decisions are never easy, but I must say Kent was a popular choice (I didn't say unanimous) overall with our partners.

5. Nick Mauro and Pat Kelly will send out an email early next week about picking up your tickets and some fun things we have ready for all of you.

If you have questions in the meantime let us know.

Jerry
