Saturday Night Fever!

Okay, they aren't all at night but I liked the title ;). Look at this upcoming Saturday (and Sunday) action!

MONMOUTH PARK:  IRISH YOU WELL

IRISH will go in Race 9 at 4:46 p.m. EDT. IRISH is #6 and is the 7-2 morning line second choice. The tricky part is that this race is just one mile long and IRISH prefers longer distances.

SARATOGA:  PATRICK'S DAY

PATRICK will go in Race 8 at 4:57 p.m. EDT. PATRICK is the 5-2 favorite going six furlongs. PATRICK will prefer two turns but we saw how DONEGAL MOON came running last week and we hope for the same in this race.  

DEL MAR:  FINNEGANS WAKE

Some of us had hoped that FINN would get a longer rest, but here we go. FINN is in the Del Mar Handicap going a mile and three eighths at 8:40 p.m. EDT, 5:40 PDT. FINN is #8 in race 8 and is the 7-2 second choice. This Grade II carries a purse of $250,000. This is a "Win and You're In" Breeders' Cup Race so a victory would save us $60,000 in entry fees. FINN trained forwardly for this race; the biggest issue is whether he has been asked to do too much recently. 

DEL MAR:  SHUT THE BOX 

And then Sunday SHUT THE BOX makes his first lifetime start in the second race at Del Mar. BOX is #3 in a seven horse field with a purse of $70,000. The race goes at 5:37 p.m. EDT, 2:37 p.m. PDT.
