A Lot of Foreplay

Dear Partners and Friends,

The Fasig-Tipton July sale has come and gone and Donegal did not make a single bid.

I am willing to give any of you EVEN money that the 2017 Derby winner was not sold today.

Still, as my friend Fred Kammeier likes to say, "You have to kiss a lots of toads to find a princess." 

So, after a hundred hours of work it is back to the cases as we get ready to try and find one to steal at Saratoga.

I told Conor Foley and Jim Hatchett today the sale was a little like spring training. You have to get the cobwebs knocked off and get back in the groove, as the Keeneland sale is always the hardest work most of us do every year. Intellectually, physically and emotionally. So we are getting back in shape for that. And in the meantime, we won't waste your money just for the sake of buying.
