DDVII Stable Update Part 2
Oatfield & Tradfest
Oatfield (Candy Ride out of A.P. Indy mare)
This colt just makes you smile. He is flashy, fast looking and has a very playful attitude. On the track he wants to go, go, go. He moves smoothly and is very easy on himself. He shows signs of quickness that you often see in horses that end up with front end speed. I expect Oatfield to go to the track in June and be ready to race in August.
Oatfield should be a dirt runner who has an excellent chance to get classic distances.
If you look closely at the before and after photos, you can see how much more powerful looking the shoulder and hip are...two of the most important pieces of any horse.

Tradfest (Unbridled's Song out of Speightstown mare)
As one of the most precocious runners, this racy looking prospect will be ready soon. A dirt prospect, this lad is eligible to run all day with the Unbridled blood in concert with Speightstown. He could end up preferring any number of distances. Trad's rider said he had the kind of stride that you see in horses who can run all day, but Frank Smith thinks the speed he shows might be more effective over moderate distances.
Tradfest, who we hope will Tredfast (I couldn't resist), looked great last September and great again on Saturday. He will turn heads in the paddock. And again, look at the difference in hip and shoulder over time. Very encouraging.
