Busy Day is Quite Promising!

August 15, 2015

Dear Partners and Friends,

DONEGAL MOON: Moon got beat by a total of 2 1/4 lengths. After starting off slowly he was moving like a freight train down the stretch and Javier (who loved him) said that if it had been 6 furlongs, instead of 5.5, he would have won. He moved past all the horses in front of him in a few jumps past the wire and galloped out many lengths faster.

Exactly what we wanted! He will be double dog tough in his next start going a mile at Belmont.

PASCHAL: Very similar performance to Donegal Moon. Got jammed up down the back side but came running for third. Again, by far the best gallop out in his race. Very promising. Text after the race from Miguel Mena said, "I am excited about this horse! He will love more distance."

Look for Paschal going two turns in a MSW race on opening day at Churchill and then looking at the Futurity ("Win and you're in" Breeders' Cup race) a month later.

KEEN ICE: Javier Castellano also breezed Keen Ice this a.m. and he loved him. Ice, breezing in company with a very fast horse, sat chilly just off his workmate until the eight pole when Javier asked him with his hands only and Ice exploded by the other house by three lengths. He then literally galloped out fifteen lengths ahead of the other. FYI: The workmate ran an 8 on the sheets last start! Ice's time, as is becoming his custom, was quite pedestrian, but he ran fast when asked. Javier is now full of confidence for the Travers.

The NY Bred sale has gone much the same as the Select Sale. We have not finished our final workups but I am quite certain we will bid on no more than one horse, if we even bid on that one. We will let you know.

Whew!

Jerry
