Yearling Sales:

It all begins this week for Donegal's Derby Dreams VIII. 

We will be working the Fasig-Tipton July Sale in Lexington. We have identified 35 hips (out of 332) that meet our specifications on paper. Beginning tomorrow, our team will evaluate all 35 and we will put them through our various tests/measurements to see if they are worth bidding on. All 332 will sell on Thursday.

Next up will be the Saratoga Sales. As I indicated earlier in the season, we are not going to evaluate the big name sires at Saratoga because they are often very over-priced. We will have our eyes peeled for quality horses we think may fall through the cracks.

In September we have the big daddy of them all - the Keeneland Yearling Sale.  If you haven't been to this sale you need to come and see the effort Donegal puts in, which leads to our success.

For those of you involved or interested in Paddy O'Prado's stallion career, he had a winner and a strong second for the second straight week. Paddy has now thrown TWO winners from NINE starters to rank SIXTH on the list of 73 freshman sires. Placing him ahead of horses like Drosselmeyer, Cape Blanco and Sidney's Candy, to name a few. A hell of a start!
